The Super Affiliate Rock Star struggle
by Greg Davis, Super Affiliate Rock Star Mr. $50K A Day
As I mentioned in the previous article, I started online in 2000. I started with affiliate marketing, and had some quick success early on. However, once the product I was promoting closed down, I had to find something else to promote and make money on. I didn’t for a long time.
For the first 7 years, I tried a little bit of everything. From affiliate marketing, to seo, ppc, cpv, ppv, network marketing, email marketing, you name it I tried it. All this time my career was taking hits – I got laid off my 6-figure job in November 2001, and couldn’t find another job that paid half of what I was making before. I hoped that I could use internet marketing as my full time income, but it wasn’t happening. I had brief periods of success, but nothing sustainable.
I didn’t realize at the time, but I needed some serious coaching.
In 2005, I reached the rock bottom of my career. I had to take a job selling copiers, and if you do’t know anything about selling copiers let me explain it to you. Basically what we did was find a big office building and “knock doors”. That means we would go office to office and cold-call, trying to sell copiers to all the businesses in the building. I was in the DC area and a lot of the buildings were secure, so I got tossed out of many buildings by security.
My life was the pits. I was determined to make internet marketing work. But how?
